“Micro Computer Systems was founded in 1988 by Dennis Lucas in downtown Brookings. In the 1990's MCS concentrated on farm/trucking sales with some business and home computer sales. In 1998 Dennis moved the business to its current location and the focus changed mainly to out of town trucking companies. As Y2K started to become a concern, Dennis hired Jason Miller to assist in the compliance process. Jason started in 1998 and purchased the company in 2003. Since 2003, Jason has been actively growing the business adding many in town customers. In 2009, MCS purchased the assets of Nortek Computers. This has grown the home computer sales and support side immensely.
